Maybe I’ll try yoga! I’m a big Pilates fan but I’ve only done yoga once…
I used to think Scott was a waste of space…but now he is being himself and I LOVE him!!!!
Smoothies are great for me and my daughters!!
So yesterday at my daughters Tinys practice I had a bit of a crazy cheer mom moment and confronted my favorite coach Mallory who doesn’t always coach Tinys and told her..”I don’t want Abby coaching my Ava, even though she’s sweet and good with her she doesn’t push her hard enough and is too nice!!! When I signed up you were her coach and that’s how I WANT it!!!” well obviously Mallory and Abby have no control over who’s coaching who depending on the needs of the gym…it’s up to Sam the owner. I apologized to Mallory later but…I just want my baby’s full potential brought out and sometimes the other Tinys coach doesn’t bring it!!
I’m just laying here after my spontaneous decision to blog about being a cheer mom…😳 well where do I begin?? It started in May 2011 when my girls were 3 and 4 and we were coerced by a friend of a friend to try out a brand spanking new cheer gym called Epic Cheer and Dance owned by the quite amazing Sam Mack! I was raised in the dance world and obviously now cheer and dance go hand in hand but back in the 80s and 90s it wasn’t so bog a partnership. I had my biases and didn’t think cheerleading was going to be their thing…little did I know that the world of All-Star cheerleading sucked us (even my extended family and close friends) in head first and we’ve never looked back! They absolutely love 😍 it and the atmosphere at our gym is very very much like a family. The drama…is minimal since you can hardly escape drama in any sport or competitive activity. The only ughhh part for me is the money you put out…but it’s worth it to see my girls so excited to be a part of this sport and working harder in their first 2 years of cheer than I ever did in my 11 years as a dancer. Their coaches are genuine and push them to be their best and they are never short on encouragement. They know what these children are capable of and make sure that the kids know it too! Cheerleading is not at all what I grew up judging it to be…it is an amazing, rewarding, and encouraging sport and I’m grateful to be exposed to what it really is instead of what people on the outside believe it to be :)
Her back walkover! Go Ava!
